Just like Wayne! Kai Rooney’s heart is blue despite following in record-breaking footsteps of his father as a free-scoring striker in Man Utd’s academy system

The talented teenager continues to generate plenty of hype as a free-scoring striker in the fabled academy system at Old Trafford. A day may come when Rooney junior graces the same senior side that saw his dad become the Red Devils’ all-time leading goal-getter.

Such a step up remains some way off for now, but United are hoping to see more home-grown stars fall off a famous production line. Rooney is fully committed to that cause and continues to work hard behind the scenes on mastering his craft.

Kai has shown his allegiance to United when seeing the funny side of uncharacteristic struggles that have been endured by arch-rivals Manchester City this season, but blue blood runs in his family. Merseyside native Wayne started out on the books of Everton, while wife Coleen is also a Toffees supporter.

Kai was never going to be allowed to take sides with anybody else. He has shown that Everton mean plenty to him by hailing the job that David Moyes is doing during his second spell in charge at Goodison Park. He has shared a “this man” message on social media, alongside a blue heart emoji.

Moyes, who took in a forgettable stint as United manager on the back of Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, has picked up four wins from his opening seven games at Everton. A healthy points haul has seen the Toffees climb above United in the Premier League table.
